about

Why do bad things happen to good people? Why do innocent children suffer? Why do evil people seem to prosper? Why are people allowed to suffer with cancer and death? I don't know. Whether I have a great philosophical or theological answer doesn't really change the fact these situations exist and touch all of us.
Jesus did not promise we would escape suffering in this world. He did however promise a day when He would wipe every tear from our eyes, there will be sickness, and death will be swallowed up in victory.
Some days all we can do is turn our eyes to heaven and hold on to hope.

lyrics

Betrayed again, its unfair
Parents say they don’t care
Eyes fixed with a blank stare
Can we make it on our own?
It seems the wicked prosper
What’s the use in effort?
Any way to not hurt
We can’t make it on our own

Turn your eyes to heaven

Growing weak from cancer
Left alone, can’t help her
Bound again and unsure
Can we make it on our own?
Bones exposed from hunger,
Crowded streets, and danger
Hearts that beat for a Savior
We can’t make it on our own

Turn your eyes to heaven

If we’ll humble ourselves and pray
and turn from our wicked ways
He will touch
He will heal
He will turn our hearts back again
He will move
He will fill
He will be redemption

about

Brett Lee Wilson Sheridan, Arkansas

I've found songwriting to be the best way for me to process life, faith, and the world around me. Through song I feel we can interact with God, each other, and ourselves. I'm a blessed man with a loving wife, a son, a daughter, and a passion to see others experience the miracle of life with Jesus. I pray this music is enjoyable and thought provoking as I share my life with you. ... more
